Hotel COZi ·Resort

The location made this a good choice for our first visit to Hong Kong, and for getting to or from the airport. We arrived around 11 pm and took bus A33x from the airport. The hotel should have been a short walk away, but it was dark and, as first timers in Hong Kong, we found the route confusing. In fact, it’s very close to the MTR and tun muen bus terminus, just across the light rail lane. V city is nearby, as is San Hui market, where we found lots of fresh fruit at great, inexpensive prices. The room wasn’t spacious, and the pool was closed until summer, but the easy airport access and location suited us well. Tuen Mun is also a good area if you’re heading to Disneyland.

The main issue was the cigarette smell throughout the floor, even though the hotel says the rooms are non-smoking. The hotel should take this seriously and fine guests who break the policy. We stayed in a family room and asked for the penguin room, which was super cute. The room was a good size, though the hotel and room quality felt like a three-star standard. The carpet was stained and dirty, and the wooden table wobbled. It’s right by Tuen Mun station, with a direct A33X airport bus and several shopping malls a short walk away.

We chose the African theme, the only one available to us, for a one-night stop before going into China. The hotel is a neat, tidy little boutique place. Rooms aren’t spacious, but the price reflects that. It’s close to the MTR and V Plaza, where there are quite a few restaurants and specialty stores. At night, though, 7 eleven and other essentials are a bit far away, so pick up what you need before heading back.

It’s handy to stay here the day before leaving Hong Kong. You can get some last shopping done or even go hiking. The MTR and several bus stops are right nearby, so it also works well for independent travelers or backpackers arriving late and needing a place to rest before going into the city. For an early flight, it’s a practical overnight stop too. A taxi to the airport takes about 30 minutes, while public transport takes under an hour, leaving you a place to relax and recharge.
