Four Points By Sheraton Urumqi

After I got home, the bites became really severe, and my doctor said they were clearly bedbug bites. I can't recommend this hotel to anyone. I spent two nights there. After the first night, I had lots of bites on my legs and a few on my arms. They moved me to another room for the second night, and I didn't get any more bites. The staff apologized and gave me some compensation for the room, but they didn't believe I had been bitten at their hotel. I also don't think they did anything to address the bedbug problem.

The breakfast was good, but the location is remote and far from town. The air conditioning in my room didn't work.

Check-in couldn't be early, so I had to wait five hours. The bathroom also smelled like it was coming from the pipes, which is strange in such a new building. On the plus side, this is a nice hotel on Urumqi's northern outskirts, with good beds, a good breakfast buffet, and attentive staff. The non-smoking policy seemed to work well.

I booked this hotel even though it was farther from the city center because I expected lounge access. As an elite member, I was also expecting all-inclusive benefits and laundry pressing twice a day. I even received an email on the day of check-in listing those benefits, but at the front desk I was told none of them were available, apart from the morning buffet breakfast. Marriott had misrepresented what was included.
