Hilton Garden Inn Urumqi Exhibition Center

The staff really made our stay memorable. On our second night, Hayli patiently helped us look for somewhere serving uyghur lagman, a local dish we enjoy. We'd only just arrived in China and were still figuring out the local apps and platforms. When the options we tried didn't work, she ordered us some delicious lagman for delivery, which a robot brought to our room. She wouldn't accept payment at first, though we paid her back once we got cash. Lucy Liu also went out of her way to call different vendors and book an excursion for us. Those personal interactions with locals gave the rest of our trip a positive start, and we're grateful we met them. The hotel is brand new and good value compared with other Garden Inns. It's about a 10 minute DiDi ride to Grand Bazaar, and seemed close to little else apart from the Exhibition Center. Breakfast was decent, the gym had good views, and there was free laundry with washers and dryers.
