My room was amazing, with plenty of space, a bed, end tables, sofa, table and chairs, lots of counter room in the bathroom, plus both a shower and tub. There was so much lighting that I had trouble switching it all off once. Dinner was brought up after a waiter came with an iPad menu and helped me choose. I could have ordered through the TV if I had WeChat, but it doesn't work well with my Pixel phone. Paying the waiter with Allipay was easy. When I wanted some English language entertainment during dinner, the hotel sent a room valet to help me navigate the Chinese menus. The choices were very limited. Breakfast the next morning had lots of variety and was very enjoyable. The matre'de was especially helpful with my questions. I'm looking forward to trying one of the restaurants. This Hilton lived up to its reputation.

We were a holiday group of 130 people from Australia. I was happy with the room and service at Hilton Urumqi hotel, but the jade shop inside it, Boyaju, was a different story. I trusted the five star international hotel, but Boyaju sold fake jade and fake certificates claiming the jade was genuine AI product. The owner was dishonest and unreliable. The hotel arranged a refund if the jade was returned, but the owner refused to accept the parcel we sent back. DHL tried hard to reach them but couldn't. It felt like a trap and was unacceptable. Please be alert and don't go into those shops, especially if you're a foreigner. Lots of people are holidaying in xinjiang these days.

The rooms are huge, breakfast has a good spread, and check in was quick. My only complaint is there was nowhere in the room to hang towels or clothes while bathing or using the toilet.

Check in was quick and easy, and breakfast had a good range of Chinese and Western options. The lobby is large, with access to a couple of restaurants. The hotel is north of the city center and has the usual airport style security system and guards for the region. Rooms are spacious and have all the usual items. The shower and tub in the middle section of the room make for an unusual but nice layout. Internet is free, with a faster paid option. This would be my go to hotel in the region.

The beds are comfortable and the rooms are big, and breakfast has choices that suit Western guests too. The air conditioning worked well on the Northside, but the Southside was too hot. There was a smell of smoke even on the non-smoking floor. It seemed just as bad on smoking floors.
