I came to watch the rocket launch and stayed in a villa. It was huge, though the room felt a bit old. The facilities also seem dated, and breakfast got pretty noisy with so many kids around. Still, there aren't many five-star options here, and it met the basic expectations for that rating.

The staff were so welcoming with the kids, and Eva Zhang at the playground was especially helpful. My daughters had a great time. The hotel itself is on the older side, but it's very kid friendly.

I booked this as the nearest five-star hotel to my in-laws' ancestral village in Wenjiao village. It's near the beach, in a fairly secluded enclave developed by LuNeng group. The hotel has a spaceflight theme, since Wenchang is home to the space station. Rooms were clean and in above-average condition. The restaurants were nice, and the prices seemed reasonable compared with Singapore.

Megan Chan at reception managed to get us into a room within 30 minutes, even though we arrived at 7 a.m. on the morning of the Long March 5 launch and the hotel was fully booked. She was a huge help throughout our week there, sorting out all kinds of little things despite us speaking only a little Mandarin. Jacky Chen at concierge also made sure we were safe and arranged hotel shuttle pickups and drop-offs. They both made the stay really pleasant, and we'll definitely return, though the hotel is a bit far from the main tourist area. The rooms were spacious, airy, and comfortable, and the food was good quality at reasonable prices. Thanks to Megan and Jacky for an unforgettable stay.
