The daytime location worked well for quick trips to the tourist areas, and the bed was okay. The view from the room was nicer than looking around inside the hotel. At night, though, the area felt very different. After 22:00 it became hostile, and the hotel gave no warning. The club next door drew very drunk people, and there was more red lighting around than just the traffic signal. I wouldn’t bring a family here. We chose a 5-star non-smoking room because the booking.com listing mentioned spa and wellness facilities. The pool was down three corridors, past two kitchens with oily floors, and when we got there it was dirty. In the room, there were stains and burns on the floor, a green algae mark in the shower, and a strong smell like an old 90s bar. We tried to complain, but because we booked through an EU website, they wouldn’t refund us so we could move to another hotel. If this hotel were in the EU, I don’t see how it could get 4 stars. To me, it’s a low-end 3-star place.

The rooms are really nice, but the Wi-Fi is painfully slow, around 0.94 Mbps. There’s also a strong smoky smell, and lots of people smoke here.

We’re staying for two weeks, but the hotel unfortunately isn’t what it used to be. Aggressive drunk people passing by harassed us, and I felt unsafe. I personally won’t stay here again.

There’s a street about 10 minutes away with plenty of other places to eat and shops. Wenzhou is mainly a business city, with few real tourist attractions, and you won’t see many Westerners around. I’ve stayed here four times, and it’s still my first choice for business in Wenzhou because the value is good and the comfort is adequate. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the facilities are kept up well. There’s a good selection of food, including Chinese dishes and a fair range of Western options.
