Wyndham Grand Plaza Royale Changsheng Jiangyin

Really great hotel, and the authentic Chinese food was excellent.

The view of the yanzi river was good.

The breakfast buffet was clean and had lots of choices, and I found the food satisfactory. My room was clean with plenty of storage, and two bottles of mineral water were replaced each day. The bathtub was separated from the bedroom by double-glazed glass, with an electric screen that could be raised or lowered, so I could enjoy the view while bathing. There was also a separate shower, although a gap in its glass partition let water onto the bathroom floor. The free hotel Wi-Fi was slow. The small 24-hour convenience store on the first floor had a limited selection, but it was handy to have it inside the hotel. The elevator required a room-card swipe before selecting an upper floor. There were billiards and table tennis, though I didn’t try either during this stay and may do so next time. I couldn’t find restaurants within easy walking distance that seemed suitable for Japanese people. The main street with restaurants and shops was at least a 30-minute walk away, so taking a taxi is recommended. There was a bicycle rental station nearby, but I couldn’t use it because I didn’t know how. The roads were wide and most cars were luxury vehicles. Electric motorcycles often came up silently and startled me.

The service was good, and breakfast was delicious.
