It’s near the South Gate of the ancient town, but far enough from the buzz. The room was very comfortable, and the staff were always welcoming and friendly. Amazing hotel. I’ll definitely stay again!

The name and current position shown on Google Maps are incorrect! (01.06.2024) It’s directly across from the Zhuquedonfang/Zhuque Street crossing. The place is called Hesu Designer Hotel, and SOON is the bar and restaurant inside.

The staff were extremely friendly, and the rooms were very nice and well maintained. The hotel has a very Western style. I found the laundry and drying services especially useful, and you can book a guided tour of the Terracotta Army through the hotel. Breakfast had both Chinese and Western food. We had an early flight the next day, and the staff kindly prepared breakfast for us well before the kitchen opened so we could still have some.

Getting around was easy: a City Wall entrance is within walking distance, and Didi made the trip back from the farther shopping and dining spots quick and cheap. For directions, use Maps.me instead of Google, as elsewhere in China. We had a spacious family room with a nice bathroom, and reception were helpful through a translation app. Self-service washing and drying were included.
