The rooms at Holiday Inn Express Xi’an Daxing are clean, modern, and practical, though cigarette smoke sometimes lingers, as it does in many hotels in China, including Western chains. I mainly wanted to write this for myself because I was so pleased with the breakfast buffet. There were lots of foods I hadn't tried before: fish skin with green vegetables, very sweet cherry tomatoes that counted as dessert, bao from the local Chinese burger to sweet red bean, fragrant yogurt with squash nuts and sultanas, and noodle soup with meat or vegetarian dumplings. I liked adding egg tomato or pickled vegetables, and a fried egg on top was best. Other choices included Mala jelly noodles made with pea starch, shredded stewed pork, and a daily soup, such as chicken, beef, or the especially good pork rib with radish and corn. They also had bacon, sausages, and Cantonese-style egg fried rice, but those seemed pretty meh by comparison. The hotel was so new that Google Maps didn't yet show it, and I couldn't add a new place for locations in China, which is understandable.

I spent a solo weekend in Xian over Christmas, and the stay went beyond what I expected. The room was modern and very clean, and the included breakfast was both delicious and plentiful. The hotel sits right by the Line 2 metro exit, so even though it's outside the center, getting there takes just a few minutes. The staff were really kind and friendly. I'd happily recommend it to other foreigners visiting Xian.

We were able to see the terracotta warriors, the pagoda, Xi'an's old walls, and shop in the mall next door from here. The place was very clean and quiet, with friendly, accommodating staff, and it was comfortable. Breakfast offered either continental or local food.

The staff are friendly and helpful, and the shopping center and restaurant are right next to the hotel. The metro is only about 5 to mins away. In the mornings, Chef Jia Hui serves noodles and greets us by asking, “what would you like to have for today”.... Excellent Service....
