The business queen room I had was impressively spacious, and there’s a locally run food outlet downstairs in the evening. Still, I wouldn’t stay here again. My room was in the older of the hotel’s two separate buildings, while the washing machine was in the newer one and only available from 8 AM to 10 PM, so I had to keep going between the two. The location was hard to figure out, especially coming by metro. It’s tucked behind a residential area, reached by a narrow alley beside a small shop. If you arrive by metro, follow the arrows in the photo into the building. Walk about 50 meters and you’ll see the Ibis, then keep following the arrows in the pictures. I’d booked breakfast for all four days but only ate there one morning. The choice was limited and the quality wasn’t great, especially the instant coffee powder, so eating elsewhere seemed better. The room size was a plus, but the awkward setup and location put me off returning.

For a good breakfast, there’s a nice little cafe near the main gate, and you can find halal food here too. It’s near the Ximen Hotel. The hotel is handy for Drum.Tower and the Muslim Quarter, but ask the staff for the shortest route. Don’t follow Google Map.

The rooms are on the small side, but they’re comfortable. It’s a great spot, very close to Bell Tower, although it can be a bit tricky to find.

Being right next to the Xi'an Bell Tower is the best part. Restaurants, cafes, and shops are all an easy walk away, so it’s convenient for exploring. The room was cozy, though it got a little stuffy; opening the doors and windows for a while helped the air feel better. Breakfast was decent but entirely local, with no Western choices. Anyone wanting familiar food or more variety may find it limited. It’s a good option for a short stay if location matters to you and you’re happy with local breakfast.

The room was extremely stuffy, and upgrading would have cost almost as much as booking a new room. We’d booked a room described as “maybe a window,” and it was listed as having air conditioning, but the unit only heated and didn’t cool. That limitation hadn’t been mentioned beforehand.
