Huaqing Aegean International Hot Springs Resort & Spa

A modern, beautiful hotel.

The in-room hot spring baths were a great way to unwind after sightseeing. The hot spring water was excellent. We stayed here as one of two bases for sightseeing. As of September 2019, the public bath was under construction. Xi'an is about an hour away by car or bus. Bus route 306 costs approximately 980 JPY, or a taxi is about 2,500 JPY. Huaqing Pool, home to Yang Guifei's hot springs, is around a 20-minute walk through the city. The Terracotta Warriors are about 20 minutes away by bus or taxi. We had a very satisfying dinner at the buffet-style hot pot restaurant next to the property. The lamb was incredibly tasty and had no odor. The Chinese vegetables were surprisingly fresh and just as delicious as the meat, and we enjoyed trying vegetables that were new to us. All-you-can-drink beer was included in the buffet, making dinner a bargain at 3,000 JPY for two. If you're planning to see the Eternal Regret Song show, held for a limited time at Huaqing Pool and said to be the world's largest outdoor show, this hotel is recommended along with the Terracotta Warriors.

The hotel is about 30 minutes from downtown Xi'an, and I think Huaqing Pool and the Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor are less than 10 minutes away by car. The hot spring facilities were good, and the hotel room was decent too. Breakfast was better than I expected.

The rooms felt elegant, and the surroundings were pleasant. The hot springs were a lovely part of the stay.
