Our room was spacious, nicely furnished, and well equipped, with a pleasant view across the manmade lake and its own balcony. The food was fantastic, though very expensive by Chinese standards and compared with other countries. We ate out for all but one meal. Breakfast at US$20 felt steep, especially after paying just US$10 at our previous hotel. The hotel's layout also means quite a lot of walking to reach rooms and other facilities. On arrival, the doorman opened our taxi door and carried our bags to the room. Check-in took only a few minutes, and the staff were fast, friendly, and attentive. That was a contrast to another Xi’An five-star hotel we stayed at, which I wouldn't recommend; see my other reviews. The Wi-Fi was poor for accessing many international websites, even with a VPN, as internet access seemed restricted. I'd suggest getting an e-SIM or SIM card for China before arriving. The Hyatt Regency Hotel in Xi’An is a world-class five-star hotel, and I do recommend it to people visiting this ancient and modern city.

The hotel is beautiful, communication was good, and even the chefs made sure we were looked after during the buffets. But after we checked out, I contacted them 38 minutes later to say I'd left my right earbud in the room. I gave them my details and asked them to check with the cleaners. They never responded. It was a sad experience in Xi'an, caused by my own carelessness and the lack of help from the hotel staff.

We stayed in a lake-view room at Hyatt Regency in Xi'an for a babymoon and to visit relatives. It was spacious, clean, and well maintained, and the breakfast buffet had an impressive range of options. The pool was in great condition too. We also booked a couples massage at the connected spa, and the service was fantastic. It included a foot scrub, shower access, and refreshments. Staff were attentive and quick to respond throughout our stay. The surrounding area was beautiful, and it was generally easy to reach key sights such as Datang Everbright City and Giant Wild Goose Pagoda.

The comfortable rooms, strong amenities, and excellent service make Hyatt Regency Xi'an feel like a flagship property. Manager Mr. Yang, or Hunter, stood out in particular. He remembered our names like a friend while still providing very professional service throughout our stay. I'd highly recommend the hotel for a getaway.

As a globalist, I was happy to get upgraded to a suite, though I had to wait until 4 p.m. before I could get in. The lounge was just okay. The location is great if you're visiting qujiang.
