Moxy Xi'an Downtown

The room was cosy, spotless, and had a comfortable bed. It was in the city centre, within walking distance of the Bell Tower and Zhonglou train station. Near reception there was a pool table, lounge, and karaoke booth. The laundry room was especially handy, with two washing machines, a dryer, and free detergent, though there can be a queue in the evenings. A great stay.

The receptionists were great when we needed help arranging an airport transfer as we were leaving. They paid for us upfront, and we sent the money back through Alipay later, which I really appreciated. The hotel also offered complimentary laundry, so we had clean, fresh clothes to wear. And even after I'd checked out, the receptionists kept helping me sort out the return of a package they'd helped me receive. I don't think I've had this kind of service anywhere else.

The location was handy, near the Bell Tower and a subway stop, but there was no way to drive right up to the hotel. We had the smallest room, and it was so tiny we struggled to fit two small suitcases. Nearby clocks and performances started waking us at 6am and sounded on the hour until 10pm, so bring earplugs. Breakfast was good for a hotel this size, with noodles cooked fresh, and the free laundry facilities on the first floor were great.

Daisy and the rest of the staff were very helpful, including receiving my Taobao parcels. We had plenty of room to pack, and the bed was comfortable and firm, with several pillow options. The location worked well for us: it's near the metro and close to the Bell Tower, where day tours stopped, so we could walk back. Lots of food options nearby too. A fantastic experience.
