The room was spacious, comfortable and nice, which was the one good part of an otherwise poor stay. The service fell short in several ways. Staff told me they couldn't exchange currency at the hotel, even though the in-room catalog said they could, so I had to walk 1 km to China Bank. The facilities also didn't match what the booking sites advertised: there was no pool, spa or sauna, and the gym was much smaller than shown. English was limited among the staff, which made things difficult for foreign guests. Although I was told the building was non-smoking, many guests smoked in the hotel, including in the corridors and elevator. That was unacceptable.

The gym was a letdown, just a small room with treadmills and a few dumbbells. Most staff were helpful, but hardly spoke English, which doesn't seem enough for an international hotel. In contrast, the room was spotless and well maintained, and breakfast was great. I'd rate the room and breakfast 5/5, the staff 3/5 and the gym 1/5.

It's quiet and not crowded, with the conference centre and a modern shopping centre right nearby. The hotel staff were friendly and very helpful.

The English-speaking staff are few and far between. They also charged nearly USD 300 per night as a credit card deposit. I paid everything, but still haven't had my deposit returned. Terrible.
