The noise from traffic out front, especially the nearly constant honking that often went past 11 pm, became harder to ignore the longer I stayed. My room was also constantly too hot because the AC was off for the season. I had to leave the window open throughout my stay to avoid feeling broiled alive, and eventually asked for a fan, which they provided. Keeping the window open didn't help with the traffic noise. I stayed for a couple of weeks. The hotel looks very nice, and the staff were generally friendly. I believe they wanted to give guests a good experience, but things didn't always work out. Communication got increasingly frustrating, with several silly administrative mistakes: they confused my room with a colleague's more than once, including when handling our payment details, deposits and charges. There was plenty of food at breakfast, but several items came straight from packages, even though some staff wore chef's hats. The presentation seemed ambitious, while the execution often felt lazy and cut corners. The noodle bar used packaged noodles, which are fine in the included breakfast, but don't make the mistake of paying for them at other times of day. Real handmade noodles are available in the food courts across the street. The eggs called "poached" were shaped with spoons in the French style, but ended up hard boiled by the time you got them out of the hot water. Most people only make the mistake of trying the French toast once. I understand they're trying to cater to a wide range of tastes, and there is only so much they can make from scratch for such a broad selection.

The rooms were spacious and clean, and the care across housekeeping, laundry, and the daily check-ins was consistently professional. I stayed at Sheraton Xi’an South for an extended period as an American who only speaks English, and had an amazing experience. Tony, who drove us to work each day, really stood out for his service. The attentiveness of the rest of the staff also made the stay memorable. If I return to Xi’an, I’d choose this hotel again without hesitation. I highly recommend it to visitors.

Nicole was wonderful at helping with all kinds of advice and making sure everyone was happy. The whole staff were smiling, friendly, and ready to help, and they made me feel like family. The hotel is about 10 minutes from the centre, easy to reach by taxi or rental bike, and the nearby talent park is lovely for walking, running, or training. The rooms are large, comfortable, and really nice, and the food was good in both quality and quantity. A really wonderful place to stay. Thanks so much for hosting me.

The cleaning staff were very friendly, which was about the only bright spot in an otherwise horrible stay. The western breakfast options were a joke, and most of the room service menu wasn't actually available. The room stayed between 75 and 80F even though it was only 65 outside at night. The air conditioner is centrally controlled, so changing the dial in the room did nothing, and guests aren't allowed to open the windows. After several promises that maintenance would check it, I was eventually told this was hotel policy. I definitely won't stay here again.

The room was great and the breakfast buffet was good, which helped make up for the location not being the best. It was also quite odd to find the bathtub right in the middle of the hotel room.
