The hotel made a comfortable, stylish base for my two nights in Xi’an. It isn't especially cheap, but I felt I got my money's worth, with no unpleasant surprises. It would suit couples, solo travelers, or anyone wanting easy access to food and sights. The location in the heart of the old city was hard to beat for a first visit. The Bell Tower and Muslim Quarter are close, and most places are walkable or easy to reach by taxi or metro. The lobby feels classy and upscale without being pretentious, and check-in was quick. Staff were warm and helpful with directions, including for non-Chinese speakers, and took time to explain local transport and good food streets. My room was modern, quiet despite the busy area, and very comfortable, with a big bed, clean bathroom, and good AC. Housekeeping replaced towels and amenities as needed. Breakfast had a decent mix of Western and Asian choices. It wasn't fine dining, but the quality was solid and it was a good start to a busy sightseeing day.

A four-star hotel with clean, spacious rooms. The breakfast spread had a good range of local and Western food. I especially liked the sauteed cowpea beans, they were very tasty.

The pool was closed for maintenance, unfortunately, but the rest of the stay was great. Service and hospitality were very good, and my room was clean and roomy. I got the expected upgrade, probably because it was low season in Xi’an. The complimentary breakfast was excellent, with plenty of choices and more than enough food.

The club lounge staff made me feel comfortable. I got back late one evening and didn't want a big meal, so they made me a fruit platter without me even asking. The area right around the hotel isn't anything special. My suite was nice, with a separate living room and 1 1/2 bath, though the hotel has an older style. As a non-smoker, I could smell that someone had smoked in the room before. Food choices were limited for westerners who don't like Chinese food.

Most of the staff speak good English and were very helpful, which was a pleasant surprise. But I wouldn't stay here if you have food allergies or need to avoid certain ingredients. I'm vegetarian and chose the place for that reason after seeing a very detailed allergy menu. So far, my vegan burger arrived with an unexpected fried egg, and my cheese pizza was covered with unexpected ham. That's not surprising for China, but I definitely wouldn't trust the food here with allergies.
