Sofitel Legend People's Grand Hotel Xian

The staff were friendly and helpful, and we had a comfortable, spacious suite with good amenities. The hotel is fairly central, within walking distance of most tourist spots. Its beautiful grounds are shared with five other five-star hotels and have lovely gardens. The buildings look grand, like they belong to another era. I'd recommend staying here in Xian.

I was deeply disappointed and felt the stay was a complete waste of money. The branding is very misleading, and I wish Accor, the French parent company, would visit and see the reality for themselves, then remove their name from the facade permanently. Although this property is officially part of a well-known Western chain, it has little in common with its counterparts. It's extremely old and in poor shape, with nothing that feels like a five-star standard. There are practically no facilities, and it was very difficult to communicate because the staff don't speak English.

The staff were warm and helped me with sightseeing, including showing me how to take the train. The pool was okay, though it's in another building and you have to walk there. It felt good for my health. Breakfast was so-so, and there wasn't much of it. The atmosphere was cozy for my short trip to Xi'an. I had a good experience with great people and would like to come back.

Shopping malls, restaurants and coffee shops are all nearby, and being in a compound with another hotel made it easy to visit my friends staying there. I had a lovely, cosy stay. The staff were kind and helpful, always greeting me with a smile. Breakfast was lovely too, and I really liked the digital lighting in my room.
