The traditional four-story courtyard is lovely, with local furnishings alongside modern touches like a projector and screen. Our room was roomy, clean, matched the listing, and had an en-suite bathroom, plenty of hot water, bottled water on request, and daily housekeeping. The ground-floor rooms are a little smaller, though. The hosts were really kind. They pointed us toward good places to eat, lent us a bottle opener, and even received and handed over our Taobao parcels. Since the place sits in a food street compound, there’s no shortage of food around. Getting there with luggage took some effort. Taxis can only drop you at the parking area, then it’s about a 10 to 15 minute walk along a busy street shared with motorbikes, cyclists, and small EVs. It was easy enough to find, just a bit tedious with bags. The alleyways get a little dark at night, so stay observant. We felt quite safe as a group of three. Our room was on the third floor, and there’s no lift. The stairs are steeper and the steps a bit higher than usual.
