I felt like family here. The owner's son and mom were so charming, and the owner gave spot-on suggestions. They also held my luggage and arranged an airport dropoff with a smile. After a long day out, a cold beer was just right. The location is hard to beat for trying the local food, and the staff mostly speak superb English. The single rooms are gorgeous, and the Thursday and Sunday market walks are well worth doing. The pagoda, wall, two towers, and stone museum were amazing, and the directions and visiting times the hostel gave me were accurate and helpful. The terracotta warrior tour mentioned in their pamphlet, which isn't run by Alley Y. H., was only so-so. There was a lot of shopping and not much historical context, so I'd pick another tour if you want one. Still, it was a great stay.

A lovely family-run hostel, with a smoking staff. The rooms and service were great, and the common room was big and warm. Don't miss the dumpling party. I'll come back if I'm in Xi'an again.

Loved the friendly group working here, and there's even a friendly cat in the lobby. The location in the Muslim Quarter makes it easy to get around Xi'an, and the stay was excellent for the price.

We paid 1,464 yuan for two rooms for 8 nights, so it was a really good deal. The place is clean, safe, and comfortable, and the staff are very friendly. There's free breakfast, and it's close to Drum Tower, the subway, the great mosque, and the Muslim Quarter, which makes finding halal food easy for Muslims. The only downside is no elevator, just stairs, but that's okay. Much cheaper than other hostels and really worth it.
