Xi'an Noble Residence Hotel

There are lots of restaurants and stores within walking distance, and the hotel was kept in pretty decent shape during my four-night stay in Xian. The room was comfortable, though it felt warm at night even with the temperature set low. Breakfast had a good range of choices, with little change from day to day, and the coffee was good. Beer costs less than Perrier. Staff had trouble communicating in English.

The room was a bit dated, but comfortable enough, and breakfast had a good variety. Staff were friendly and helpful, especially the concierge, who can give you a city map before you head out. The location also works well for walking to the Bell & Drum Towers, the City Wall, and plenty of restaurants and shops.

The room here is smaller than at Sofitel, and the quality is more average. Still, it’s more affordable, and the location is better, right by ‘The Bell Tower’ and ‘The Drum Tower’ in the heart of Xi’an. If hotel quality isn’t your main concern and you’re watching your budget or want to be close to the sights, this place could suit you.

We came in April 2016 with a class of music students from Canada, and the hotel easily met everything we needed. The staff were very friendly, and it was a great spot for an evening stroll down to the bell tower. Our tour company, SNA tours, arranged the hotel.
