For what it costs, this place really impressed me. The staff speak good English, and breakfast at the hostel is cheap and tasty. Our double room was lovely, comfortable, and very clean, better than some much pricier hotels we've stayed in. The location worked well too, with the subway and Everyday mart just 100 meters from the door.

The location is very central, just around the corner from the Muslim Quarter and the excellent food area in the huge market. I also liked the signs and notices in the lift. The accommodation was clean and very nice, with a cosy, comfortable bar and lounge. The staff were helpful with booking tours, spoke excellent English, and the bar staff did too. Breakfast was cooked and great.

The shower was messy, but the hostel itself was quite nice, and the staff spoke good English by Chinese standards. Even in a private room it was reasonably comfortable, except for the heavy winter blanket in 38-degree heat. I had to run the air conditioning all night, and it was a bit noisy.

Staff speak good English and the place is okay. The lobby and shared area are actually very quiet, despite what some booking site photos suggest, and not much goes on there. I took Tour 1 from the offer and wouldn't recommend it. Better to get an early taxi straight to the Terracotta army, without the unnecessary stop at the “factory,” which is really a shop. The entrance is 120.
