Xian Jinhai Hotel

Check-in was quick, and they welcomed me with unsweetened tea, which I love. I was upgraded to a suite on the 10th floor, with fresh fruit, fluffy white towels and a bathrobe. The suite also had free sodas and a coffee machine. The bathroom had a separate toilet and shower, plus a bidet, slippers, razor blades, toothbrush, and shower cap. Breakfast is served on the lobby floor from 7 to 10 am and costs 99 yuan per person. My room looked out over the top of the Bell tower. The hotel is about 250 m from Beidajie metro station on the red Line 2, and around 25 minutes from Xi’an north railway station. Bell tower and Ancient wall are within walking distance, along with many of Xi’an’s must-see, must-eat, and must-do spots. The area is a little crowded, so watch out for electric motorcycles.

Honestly, the best hotel experience. They were so welcoming and checked what we needed from the administration table, even while we were in the lounge. When we asked where we could get food outside the hotel, they offered us a FREE dinner. They asked if we were from overseas, I said yes, and they gave us dinner at no charge, though the cuisine options were limited. You can also ask them for free bottled water.

I spent 8 days at the Mercure Hotel, Xi'an Bell Tower Muslim Street in February 2025, and was really pleased with my stay. The staff, led by Mr. Fan Yu Gan (Fan Yu Gan), did far more than expected to make guests comfortable and help with all kinds of situations that can come up while traveling in China. The hotel is downtown, next to the famous Muslim Quarter with its delicious, distinctive local food. Rooms have plenty of modern conveniences, including a state-of-the-art toilet, and housekeeping was impeccable. There’s a well-equipped gym and a self-service laundry room too. I especially enjoyed the buffet breakfast, with a wide selection and a chef cooking dishes to guests' preferences. I wholeheartedly recommend it as a home away from home while exploring this ancient Chinese city.
