The rooms look new and were quite clean, and I liked the views over the park and river. It's a decent hotel and probably among the city's more affordable options. The breakfast buffet had an alright selection, but the food quality left a lot to be desired.

There are two buildings, one old and one new, and we were put in the old one. The facilities there were poor. The location by the lake is good, though, and the view is beautiful.

The lakeside view was lovely, but the rest of the stay didn't feel like a four-star experience. At breakfast, there were no tongs for the fried eggs, and a server offered to handle them with tongs. The following day, some raw oysters were on the eggs, possibly because the same tongs had been used. The sashimi was only partly thawed and tasted stale, though I don't know how long it had been frozen. Staff also left used buffet plates uncleared and didn't check whether guests were finished. The restaurant and service were far below par.

The first night was quite clean and went well, but the next night the toilet overflowed soon after I turned on the hot water. By morning the floor was still wet, and the drain wasn't working at all. I couldn't get the TV to turn on for the whole three-day stay, and even the housekeeping staff didn't know how to operate it. The refrigerator didn't work either, and the hairdryer was broken.

I was woken up a few times in the middle of the night by noise from the room next door. The walls seem thin. The hotel is a little tucked away, though getting around from there is convenient.
