Fliport Garden Hotel Xiamen

The lack of air conditioning made the room uncomfortably hot. On April 2, they told us the central system still wasn't on. They brought a fan, but we were still too warm indoors even though it was a pleasant 20 degrees outside. The Wi-Fi also wouldn't connect in our room, and with the language barrier we couldn't be bothered asking more questions. The bed was very comfortable, and the shower, slippers, and hair dryer were good. They let us check in at 8am and stay until 8pm, which was a big win for us. There's a free airport shuttle once an hour, but you have to book it. No convenience store nearby, though there's a small one in the lobby.

The main plus is that it's a modern-looking hotel close to the airport. But the room air conditioning stayed at 23 degrees in November, no matter how I adjusted it. The breakfast buffet was mediocre for the price. They dealt with my AC complaint by moving me to the hotel in the next block, the 80s-looking Qiyuen building hotel. I later read past reviews and saw that people had reported these aircon issues eight years ago. I wonder why the hotel hasn't taken that feedback seriously. Avoid it if you can, there are better options around.

The soundproofing in the room was great, and despite being close to the airport, I didn't hear any airplane noise. Staff were very patient when receiving guests, and the hotel also offers free airport drop-off. It's a very good hotel.

This is the first time I've stayed at a hotel where they gave us a standing fan because the air conditioning didn't work at all. They put us on a floor where it only blew air, then claimed it was AI technology and the AC wouldn't cool because the outside air was cold. Bullshit.
