The location is very central, the price was affordable, and the service was good. I stayed in the cinema room at Yonglida Garden Hotel. It had no windows, but I was surprised it didn’t feel cramped. A few little things were confusing as a foreigner, like having to call reception to ask where the complimentary soap was, and the staff spoke little English. Still, that was understandable and no big deal. Great value for the location.

Our rooms smelled of smoke when we finally got upstairs, after a frustrating start at the front desk. We were first given the wrong room type, and the receptionist said changing it was “too troublesome.” We had to ask several times before she switched them, but then there were two beds fewer than we needed. Back downstairs again, we had to wait while she clicked around on her computer with a very black face. She never apologized. It was a really unpleasant beginning to our stay, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone hoping for a stress-free hotel visit.
