The room was a little dated, but it was spotless and well maintained. I also had a great stay in the club lounge, with plenty of food available throughout the day and hot dishes to order during the dinner cocktail period. Breakfast was another highlight: a great buffet with lots of choices, and chefs came around offering dishes cooked to order, including laksa and a pancake whose exact name I’m not sure of. The atmosphere there was very good too. Betty in the lounge was especially welcoming, and all the staff were friendly. Check-in was quick and flexible. When I wanted to extend my stay, they arranged it before my booking on GHA was completed, and they could process Discovery $$, which some hotels can’t. A few days before I arrived, the hotel emailed to sort out details, including the room and any upgrade, which was very helpful. One of my best GHA hotel experiences in Xiamen. I’d recommend booking one of their higher-tier rooms.

Wendy’s warm smile welcomed me into the lobby of Marco Polo Xiamen and made the stay feel special from the start. Her hospitality felt personal, generous, and completely genuine, not just professional. That kind of warmth is rare and hard to forget. She really represents the spirit of hospitality.

The riverside and park right beside the hotel are great for an evening stroll or run. It’s also handy for exploring the city on foot, and the nearest underground station is about a four-minute walk away. Most sights are around 15 minutes by taxi. All very convenient, and the staff working here were friendly and helpful.

My room was great, and the hotel has a beautiful pool. It feels luxurious without costing too much, and the location worked really well. My friend’s room, though, smelled quite a bit of smoke and a little mildew. Helpful staff, too. On other booking sites, this hotel was called Marco Polo.

The breakfast buffet has a big variety, and the fresh grapefruit juice is worth trying even if you don’t usually like it. The hotel itself is stunning to look at, and the location is superb, right by a lovely lake and walking boardwalk.
