I spent a week here and would definitely stay again. Coming from Australia, I found it clean and welcoming, and the staff did their very best to cater to us Westerners. It's also a great base if you need to be centrally located for factories.

Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Xiamen is in an industrial park, about a 30-minute drive from the city center and close to the airport if you're flying the next day. The rooms are nice, spacious, and fairly new. Some standard rooms have a clever layout, with the sink moved to the middle and bathroom partitions broken up to make the space feel larger. The mattress and pillows were acceptable, and room service responded quickly and proactively when we asked for hot water or service. The downsides are the remote Tong'an District location and the lobby parking entrance, which is a narrow one-way lane that's difficult for tour buses and large groups. Hot water in the rooms also takes a while to come through.
