I had a great time.

The hotel has a great location, close to the Botanical Garden and Zhongshan Road, and the taxis in Xiamen aren't expensive. Still, the place where Xi Jinping stayed felt dated, and my room was very damp. I was also really upset that I lost my beloved kettle there. Given that environment, I don't think the convenience is worth putting up with the discomfort. If you've found this Google review, you're probably Taiwanese or a foreigner with money to spare. My advice is to pay twice as much and choose a five-star chain hotel. It would be much more worthwhile. Unless you're doing a ten-mile hike while carrying 200 pounds of wheat without changing shoulders.

The rooms are comfortable, and the staff are friendly and attentive. The hotel is also easy to get to, with an airport shuttle available.
