Waldorf Astoria Xiamen

The fitness center was spacious and well equipped, with a squat rack, smith machine, and a separate yoga room. We also enjoyed the jacuzzi. The pool doesn't have a shallow area for children, and needing a swimming cap to use it was a bit of a nuisance, though understandable. My family and I had a wonderful stay at Waldorf Astoria Xiamen, especially appreciating how beautiful the hotel is. Our room was clean, spacious, and well designed. Dining was fantastic, particularly at Peacock Alley and HOKKLO, where we'd be happy to eat again.

The heated pool in the Peacock garden was the finishing touch. The hotel feels special from the marble welcome area to the striking decor, which has an arty feel throughout. Service was impeccable, and the fifth-floor lounge is classy, with cocktails and other drinks. Breakfast had everything I wanted without being overwhelming. I tried the fitness room too, and it was the first luxury one I'd seen, even with a sofa to relax on.

Xian Cheng, the local Fujian cuisine restaurant on the sixth floor, is a Michelin One Star and worth trying if you're visiting Xiamen.

My sister and I picked Waldorf Astoria Xiamen for this trip, and the location worked well. It's beside the Lotus Business District in Panji, with convenient transport and Lotus Park right in front. The area is a settled community business district, quieter than some busy downtown spots. The waiting area made a good first impression. Its private seating meant we could wait without feeling awkward. Ludao Elegant Manor has a light luxury style and refined elegance, without the showy feel I've seen in some hotel publicity. We stayed in a deluxe view room. Warm reddish brown tones and wood textures made it easy on the eyes, and the floor-to-ceiling windows had a bright outlook. The furnishings and hardware felt well considered. There was a free self-service coffee machine and TWG Tea English tea, and the toiletries were WA's standard Ferragamo. In the evening, room service thoughtfully brought eye masks, hand sanitizer, and snacks with southern Fujian characteristics.
