Yitel Collection Xiamen Zhongshan Road Seaview

The hotel is in a great spot, right by the city's walking street and across from the sea, with lots of nearby shops and a tasty range of food. Shopping centres are easy to reach on foot, including supermarkets and souvenir shops. A few food places stay open later at night, though there aren't many. Shared bikes nearby are handy if you can use them, and the cycling paths are clean and nice. The room was clean and as expected, though I noticed a little smoke smell despite requesting a non-smoking room. Some rooms look across the water toward the island's famous POI. Breakfast was included and simple, but during busy hours there weren't enough seats or tables, and the breakfast room has no view. There's a pier opposite the hotel, but visitors can't use it to reach the island across the water. You need to take the ferry from the pier designated for tourists. I arrived as a typhoon was approaching, and the ferries were all stopped because of the strong wind, so I couldn't visit the island. I enjoyed my stay here. Good.
