It's a lovely hotel with a hot spring, and the rooms are much more orderly and proper than the ones in the ancient town. Getting to the town entrance takes a short ride since the hotel isn't inside the town. They say you can walk down to the river's east side, but we didn't try because it looked like a long downhill walk.

The hotel is beautiful, and the hot spring is excellent, but the staff made our stay at the Wyndham Fenghuang unforgettable. BOB, GYINNI, and MYIA were warm and attentive. After I accidentally left my camera in the room at checkout, they arranged an urgent courier to get it to my next destination, over 600km away. That kind of honest, dedicated help is rare. I recommend this hotel if you're visiting Fenghuang.

The hotel is smart and very good, with large, convenient rooms, but its smart elevator setup caused a serious problem. At 7:56 AM I went to the 18th floor. All four elevators stopped at the 17th and then went back down. I was left wondering if I had to use the fire escape to get down from above the 18th floor. I finally got down at 8:05 AM using the freight elevator. Even then, you need to know the floor plan to find your way down safely. Breakfast had the same issue, with the food pickup area feeling like an escape route. It's a huge hotel, but the software needs work.

We checked into room 4046 on June 25, 2024. The lobby was luxurious and comfortable, and the hotel itself is magnificent, with spacious guest rooms, dining options, a bar, and more. The facilities were complete, clean, and lovely. Phoenix Hot Springs has 68 outdoor pools, though we only visited 🤭🤣. The food was excellent, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Excellent!
