That welcome towel folded into an elephant was adorable 😍. The stay was comfortable and felt like what you'd expect from a 5-star hotel. They supplied the usual amenities, even a razor, which I pay attention to since many places leave those out. On 2019/7/17 the razor was missing, though, so I wondered if I needed to ask. When I requested more, they brought more than one. My only improvement request is the toilet: it doesn't flush well and has a sewage-like smell, maybe because the water volume is low. *Just my personal opinion, not meant as advertising or slander.

The extra care at Wanda Xiangyang really stood out, especially at check-in and when I first got to the room. I often stay at IHG hotels around China, and this was the best attention to detail I've seen. They gave Japanese guests printed instructions and explanations, even though I'm fluent in Chinese. I expect they do the same for visitors who speak other languages. The room had a playful feel, and at this price I wondered how they managed it. The interior, bedding, and breakfast were all up to IHG standards, so I felt comfortable. Being near downtown and Wanda Mall made dinner out easy, and getting to the station, airport, and well-known sights was convenient too.

Restaurants, shopping malls, and tourist sights are all close by, which makes the location really handy. The service and facilities are excellent, and I'd gladly recommend this hotel.
