There was no hotel at the address the taxi driver took me to. He called it a scam and said the place didn't exist.

It was OK.

We liked it as a simple place to spend one night in Xi'an, and the "interesting details" tab is worth a look. The ride from Xi'an Airport takes about 10-15 minutes by taxi. Don't expect anything special: the mattresses leak, though the sheets are clean, and there's electricity and a shower. The shower has no stall, just a hole in the floor beside the toilet, so you wash right after using the toilet. Clean towels, toothbrushes, toothpaste and soap are supplied. Our window was broken and wouldn't shut all the way. At night, make plenty of noise at reception to wake the employee, who's asleep on the second floor. Showing your booking in a translator won't help her understand; she'll ask whether you've paid. If you have, you won't need to show passports or other papers, she'll just take you to your room. In the morning, the reception desk has a note in Chinese saying to leave the key there, with a circle drawn on the paper. 😎😄
