The hotel sits in a very open area, with no nearby shops, supermarkets, or even fruit sellers. Breakfast wasn't a big spread, but I liked what was there. The building looks grand, and the lobby ceiling is really high. At night the bright lights made the place feel like a nightclub. There were some useful touches, including tea, a kettle, bathrobes, paper slippers, and a wake-up call so staff wouldn't wake me by knocking. The room could use work, especially for a hotel out in the mountains and countryside. The bed felt too firm and had no give, and mine smelled a little smoky. The bathroom water wasn't warm enough. Filling the tub took a while, and the water still wasn't hot, so I couldn't stay in for more than five minutes. There were no tissues.

The lobby looks lovely, but the room facilities were in poor shape. The lights, outlets, hot water kettle, hair dryer, and toilet paper all had problems or weren't working well. The wake-up call was quite something too, with someone calling out in the hallway early and knocking on doors. The Wi-Fi showed a signal, but I couldn't get online.

This is in the middle of the Luya Mountain Scenic Area, and the surroundings are beautiful. If you can spend the money and want that kind of setting, you could enjoy staying and exploring for several days. Getting around to the scenic spots nearby isn't very convenient, though. It's something to weigh up.
