Breakfast was fresh and had plenty of variety. I also found the location convenient, close to [landmarks/restaurants/transport]. The staff were attentive and friendly, and my room was comfortable and clean. The facilities were well looked after too. I had a wonderful stay.

The service really stood out during my very satisfying stay at the Sheraton Xishuangbanna. Staff were professional, polite, and attentive. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, especially the bed, and the hotel was quiet, though a bit far from the city center. It's suited to a relaxing holiday, with free activities nearby and a complimentary shuttle to the airport and train station. Breakfast had lots of choices, and I especially liked the noodle stalls. There are good restaurants nearby too. We ate at the Dai Family Banquet by the gate twice, where the portions were generous and prices reasonable.

The hotel is close to the airport but a fair way from town, around 15 minutes depending on traffic. When I visited, it was occupied almost entirely by tour groups, though it's an excellent resort destination. I found only a few staff members who spoke English, but they were very helpful. Given where the hotel is, the limited English wasn't surprising. The Sheraton Grand Xishuangbanna Hotel is well designed and equipped, with rooms of an excellent standard looking out over gardens and swimming pools. Breakfast was a good buffet selection, as you'd expect at this kind of hotel. You'd have to be pretty fussy not to find something you like. I had dinner at the Yue restaurant, where I was the only diner, which made for a lonely meal. The Cantonese food was quite good, though not outstanding.

The hotel itself is beautiful, but the in-room AC wouldn't cool below 27℃ (80℉), and I kept waking up sweaty. I was here for a business trip hoping to get two restful nights, but couldn't sleep well. I called three times, then went to the front desk and insisted they call the manager before anyone came to look at it. The staff were friendly, but didn't seem to care that the rooms were hot. That lack of sleep ruined the stay for me. I'm a Spire IHG member and stay in nice hotels regularly, so choosing this one was a mistake.

The room was nice, and the staff were willing to help. English was the sticking point, but everyone had a translator on their phone.
