It's a lovely place to visit the old town, though it's smaller than the old towns in other cities.

The people here make you feel at home, and the food is good. It's a charming little ancient town with all sorts of small and large items to find. It would be a great spot for making art too. I'm sure you'll like this tiny old town.

This traditional old village is close to Chengdu and has been well preserved. It stays much cooler than Chengdu, so it's a good place to visit in summer. Getting there by long-distance bus can be a bit hard for foreign visitors who don't speak Mandarin. One option is to take a bus from Chengdu Xinnanmen Station ( Chengdu Xinnanmen Bus Station) toward Bifengxia (Bifengxia), then get off at Ya' an north highway toll（Ya'an North Highway Toll Station). Another is to take a bus from Shiyangchang Bus Station (Shiyangchang Bus Station) to Ya'an(Ya'an), then a taxi to Ya' an Tourist Station (Ya'an Tourist Bus Station), where you can take a private van to Shangli (Shangli) for RMB 8 per person. Renting a private van from Chengdu or driving yourself may be easier.
