I’ve stayed at a few 4/5* hotels in China, and this one stood out for its excellent breakfast and really friendly staff. Great value for the money. Definitely recommend it.

The breakfast was good, and it was quiet. The spa, though, was a miserable experience after 18 hours of travel and two flights. The room was so dim and silent it felt more like a crypt than somewhere meant to relax. The massage therapist kept chewing gum loudly, which was distracting and unpleasant, and her lack of skill was obvious. It felt like an overpriced, poor attempt at a massage, completely inappropriate for a hotel of this caliber.

My clients and I have used this hotel for business trips. We returned for the first time after Covid-19 this August, and because we arrive by flight and then travel inland, we always check in late. I’m writing now because the stay left a lasting impression, and I want to explain what happened. The ceiling in the bathroom had mold, and the bedroom had a strange smell. I hope that smell is gone by now. I always put up the “do not disturb” sign as soon as I arrive and leave it there all the time. This hotel has two ways to show it: a switch below the room number, where red means do not disturb, and the usual sign on the door handle. The first two days were fine, and I got to rest when I came back to my room. But the night before checkout, after a long day of meetings, I returned to find the switch was green instead of red, the hanging sign was gone, and there was trash on the floor. I assumed it had been left by the cleaning lady. I hurried to the front desk to ask why, since I had put up the sign and turned on the red light. The room wasn’t even cleaner than before. After I confronted the staff for the fourth time that night, someone finally answered, and lied to my face: they said the resident next door had seen me hang up the sign and taken it down for some reason, so the cleaning lady didn’t know I’d asked not to be disturbed. But what about the red light? And what kind of person would take the sign down? The resident they described was supposedly from the room where my colleagues were staying, and I knew they would never do something so strange. There were too many holes in that explanation, and I was furious. I just wanted to get out of there as soon as possible. It made me feel unsafe, like something fishy might be going on. If you’re considering this hotel for a business trip, think twice, or at least be prepared for the cleaning team to enter your room unexpectedly.

The rooms are large, clean, and sophisticated, with dreamlike beds, nice views, and a well-planned bathroom. The gym and pool are a huge plus. This is the nicest and most luxurious hotel I’ve stayed at during my visits to China. I highly recommend it and look forward to coming back.

Everything was perfect for a business trip to Yangjiang. The rooms are modern, comfortable, and clean, and the front desk staff spoke plenty of English. Fantastic hotel!
