I only managed to take one photo of the meal, and couldn't take any more. Maybe I ended up at a dessert shop. The sweet and sour pork was very sweet, and so was the stir-fried kidney. The lion's head was sweet too, while the braised pork was even sweeter and fattier. It tasted even sweeter than food in Tainan, maybe? It wasn't to my liking. When I arrived in Yangzhou on April 25th, I got a message saying this was Yiyuan Restaurant, Michelin-recommended for 25 years? Oh my god, I really have no words 👍👍⋯⋯

The city center location is handy, and I’d heard the restaurants there were well reviewed. I booked a table so I wouldn’t have to queue. But before I went to sleep, the hotel sprayed insecticide. It triggered the alarm and left the room full of smoke, so I couldn’t stay in it. They found me temporary accommodation, but the way they handled the crisis was very poor. It’s about a 25-30 minute taxi ride from Yangzhou East.
