I’ve been here twice and was comfortable on both visits. The rooms are roomy and quiet, and housekeeping and room service were very good. Breakfast stood out too, with lots of options for vegetarians and people with dietary restrictions. The location makes getting around easy, with the beach a short walk away and attractions, restaurants, supermarkets, spas, and ATMs nearby.

The 47th-floor Asian restaurant had decent food and a nice view, though it was cold there too. The buffet downstairs was worse for warmth: food went cold within a couple of minutes, and the room itself was uncomfortably chilly. In my room, the heater kept things manageable, but the shower took about 2-3 minutes to produce hot water. I was here on business in early March. The building looks to be around 20 years old, and its age shows in the facilities. The small gym has a few machines, but the dumbbells were rusty. At reception, the staff member I spoke with could barely communicate in English. There’s a 7-Eleven across the street, while the nearest mall is about 2.5 km away, or a 10-minute taxi ride. I chose the hotel because there weren’t many alternatives in the area. If I have a choice next time, I’d stay somewhere else.

The room was comfortable and clean, though the decor feels dated. Breakfast has a good range of food, but the bar shuts very early, so there’s not much to do if you get back late. The hotel stands much taller than the nearby buildings. These pictures are from a sea-view room.

I come back once a year for work. The staff are polite, and the meals and bars are good. C-bar is hidden around the back, a nice spot for a quiet drink. Breakfast is a buffet with an almost unbelievable number of choices.

The views over Yantai are amazing, and the hotel is very high-end. It caters to Western guests to some extent, and most staff can speak basic English, which helps. Everything seemed reasonably priced except the Chinese food restaurant.
