Longkou Holiday (Longkou Hotel Tower B)

There's a supermarket right across the road where you can buy groceries. I didn't try the food, since I'd heard it wasn't very good. The rooms are very spacious and clean, having been renovated about two years ago, and the Wi-Fi speed is decent. There are some usage restrictions typical of China, but staying here is otherwise straightforward.

The bed takes up nearly the whole room, with hardly any space for clothes, and there's only a cramped shower, no bath. The curtains open as soon as you enter, so you have to find the button to close them. The place feels very pretentious, and that leads to plenty of hassles. The service can be intrusive: they may insist on taking your bag to the room or bring you a compliment you didn't ask for. Staff don't speak English, so you'll need an electronic translator. Buttons and projectors are everywhere, and the nightstand moves around the hall and speaks Chinese. There's no power outlet, so the charger stops working when you go to breakfast.

The smart air conditioning works well, and the mall nearby makes the newly renovated Longkou Hotel easy to get to. It looks promising.
