The place was cold throughout, and at the end of January the hotel wasn’t heated. The bedroom also had a strong smoke smell, despite a no smoking notice in the entrance. There was even an ashtray beside the no smoking sign in the room. The fridge seemed not to have been cleaned in ages and didn’t work, and neither did the internet. In the huge dining room, hundreds of food trays sat empty. The only food in a corner was broken dumplings, possibly reheated from the day before. It was New Year’s Eve, and the dumplings had coins in them.

The buffet had lots of different, tasty dishes, and the hotel was nice. My room was pretty clean, though not in the details, so I took off a star.

I couldn’t sleep at all, so I had to keep a mask on. The bedroom reeked of cigarette smoke, and the bathroom smelled awful too. You get what you pay for, I guess.
