The place looks grand from outside, but the interior feels old. We stayed one night, and that was all we got for the price. The staff didn’t offer any warmth. The room was too hot, and the air conditioner was noisy and didn’t follow its settings. Avoid it if you can. There are other hotels near Three Gorges Visitor Center, so there’s no need to choose this one.

The river view from my room at Crowne Plaza Yichang was stunning, with the Yangtze River flowing below and mountain silhouettes in the distance. The hotel sits right along the riverbank, close to shopping and entertainment, so it’s easy to enjoy the scenery and still be near the city. I’d recommend booking a river-view room.

The hotel is next to the Wanda shopping plaza, and it has a grand lobby entrance and a good breakfast. The room layout was nice, but they turn off the AC in early winter. You have to open the window and use a fan.

The rooms are roomy and comfortable, and the hotel has a good location and service. Breakfast was varied and tasty. A really good hotel.

There aren’t many Western-style hotels in Yichang, and this one feels luxurious, with friendly staff. The internet was surprisingly unreliable, meaning the connection itself, not the usual censorship. Also, although there’s a concierge desk, nobody seemed to feel responsible for staffing it. Still, it’s a good place to recharge your batteries.
