Xiazhou Hotel Yichang

Yiling Park is nearby, with locals dancing and exercising in the mornings and evenings. There’s also a children’s park beside the hotel, and the different groups and dance styles make the area pleasant for a walk after dinner. Shops and other places are within walking distance, so the location is excellent. I enjoyed my stay and think others can enjoy it too. I was there for 4 nights and 5 days in September 2019, and it was a pretty normal experience at this 3-star hotel. The staff were friendly and the surroundings were fine. My room, 7339, was a standard double with two beds, a TV, two chairs, two cupboards, and two water bottles supplied each day. There was also an electric kettle for hot water or tea. The room wasn't very spacious, and the washroom was cramped too, though everything was arranged in the small space. The bathroom could use more room, especially if you're on the larger side, but it was manageable. The main building has reception and the 3-star rooms. The restaurant is quite big, with a good range of Chinese food served buffet-style for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

The rooms are spacious, with large washrooms, and the rooms and corridors are nicely decorated. The location is handy too, about a 10-minute walk from Walmart, a great place to shop. I found it a bit awkward as a foreign guest because the receptionists don't understand English. The Wi-Fi also doesn't always work, especially on the 7th floor.

The lobby has an impressive look from the outside, but the rooms feel pretty dated. It seems like a place where tour groups stay overnight.

Had a nice stay, though the pool could use some improvement.
