Hilton Garden Inn Zhangjiajie Wulingyuan

The rooms feel new, with modern fixtures, comfortable beds, and well-equipped bathrooms. Breakfast was basic but fine. Service was uneven, though. Don't ask for a black tea bag, apparently even that simple request is beyond the staff.

The hotel was new and clean throughout, and it felt well run and dedicated despite being small. At breakfast, three coffee machines kept guests from having to queue, and the staff wore masks while cooking. The noodles were tasty, with two flavors to pick from. This was much better than the Hilton Garden Inn in Changde, Hunan Province, which had just one coffee machine. I thought I'd made the right choice during my November 17th to 19th stay. That changed at breakfast on November 19th, the second day. I ordered noodles before checking out and they served them in a broken bowl. I had already seen that bowl in use when eating my first bowl of noodles, and told the noodle-cooking staff not to use it for me. It was a really bad experience and made the management seem inattentive and unprofessional.

The room was spacious, and the place looked brand new. It's in a quiet part of Wulingyuan, and the young team was efficient. I also appreciated having free laundry. Breakfast was good too.

The hotel was built this year, so everything in the room is new, and the room itself is huge. Breakfast may be the best in Jangjiajie. The gym is small, crowded, and windowless, and I wish the laundry machines had instructions. It's about an hour from local Chinese downtown and the shops. Pretty great overall, 9/10.
