For my last night in Zhangjiajie, I picked this hotel because it’s close to the airport. It’s basic, but clean and tidy, and very affordable. A good choice for a short stay or a night before catching a flight.

Our family found the top-floor apartment just right for six people. It has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a roomy living room, and a washing machine. Breakfast was a good, typical Chinese spread. The hotel is near the Tianmen Cable Car but away from the shopping area. A taxi to shopping areas such as Nanmen costs RMB 10-15.

The building feels new, and the room was spacious. There was a great range of breakfast options, too. Staff don't speak English, as is common with businesses around here, so you'll need to use a translator app on your phone. Overall, a good hotel.

You can get a decent room here for €20 a night, and there’s even a little market by the entrance. The view is basically nonexistent, but the hotel is okay.

The standout for us was how attentive the staff were. They picked us up at the airport, and the receptionist helped us a lot with buying park entry tickets and carefully explaining the whole plan. They were thoughtful about everything. Our family room was really spacious, and breakfast had plenty of choices, including Western options.
