Shuanglong Hotel

Being close to the slopes is what makes this place work for me. The service could be better, but the location makes it okay.

I stayed in December 2024, and getting to the resort was easy since it’s right beside it. The drive from Beijing International Airport takes about three hours. Dinner and breakfast are both buffets, with plenty of Chinese and Western options. The rooms are plain but fine. Water in the room isn’t drinkable, though housekeeping leaves bottled water each day. There’s a hot spring on the first floor. The small fitness room has a few treadmills and machines, dumbbells, and bent over barbells. The unattended convenience shop has drinks, instant meals, and snacks only. Wi-Fi works, but some websites are blocked, so you’ll need a VPN.

The buffet breakfast has lots to choose from, with hot Chinese and Western dishes and unlimited servings. It’s a good way to start the day. From the third floor, you can get straight to the ski slopes, which is convenient. Our upgraded Standard Room was spacious and bright, with a view of the snow and morning sun. It met hygiene standards and felt like good value, with five-star standard. The welcome was warm too: the front desk smiled, helped with luggage and ski equipment, and made check-in smooth. Whether you’re new to skiing or experienced, there’s enjoyment to be had here.

The buffet restaurant has a good range of dishes. The hotel is clean and friendly, and getting to the ski resort is convenient.
