The crew were nice, and the room felt cozy with facilities that were new and sufficient. I couldn’t find a hair dryer, though. Getting here from the west train station was very easy. To reach the city centre, you’ll need a taxi, but the fare isn’t that high.

We checked in on June 4, 2019, during our Gansu section of the Silk Road tour at the Zhangye Inn. Our tour guide called it the best hotel in Zhangye. The lobby had a high, double-height ceiling, with adorable camel plush toys 🐪🐫🐪🐫🐪🐫 displayed on the beams. The room counter was on the left, the sofa seating on the right, and a lovely café sat toward the back on the right. A small supermarket just outside on the left was handy. There was a TV, humidifier, kettle, slippers, and a small fridge in the room. The outlets all had USB ports, which was convenient. The bathroom had bath, hand, and face towels, plus disposable toothbrushes, toothpaste, combs, razors, and lotion. Refillable shampoo and shower gel were in the shower. We found yellowish urine stains on the toilet seat when we entered. We reported it to the first-floor front desk, and housekeeping came to clean it within 3-4 minutes. The pillowcases were also wrinkled where our heads rested, which made us wonder if the room had been properly cleaned after the previous guest checked out.
