The staff really impressed me. We mentioned a possible leak in the shower enclosure, and they offered to move us straight away. By the time we reached the lift, the staff member helping with the move was already there. The room was a good size and service was excellent, making this a great base for Zhangye and nearby sights like Danxia and Matisi Temple. Highly recommended.

The bed and pillows were comfortable, and the Peggy Pig Suite was enormous, with two rooms and three beds for just my husband and me. Breakfast was the letdown: there wasn't real coffee. What they called coffee came from a glass jar, already brewed, and tasted like 3 in 1 instant coffee.

May 2024 There was only one pillow on each bed, and apparently the hotel doesn't see why a second one might matter. The shower pressure was weak, and its door wouldn't shut properly, so take care while using it. There was shampoo and conditioner in the shower, but no conditioner or lotion. The room felt cramped, especially once I opened my suitcase. Maybe the hotel's star rating doesn't quite match the experience.

There are supermarkets nearby, which makes shopping easy. The hotel is in Lanzhou New Area, close to Zhongchuan Airport. Standard rooms are spacious, the mattresses have a comfortable medium firmness, and the bathrooms separate wet and dry areas.
