Crowne Plaza Zhangzhou

The room smelled of smoke right by the entrance, and there wasn't even a coffee machine. At check-in I asked reception how much a rental car would cost, but the person checking never came back with an answer. The first impression was bad. I also had trouble with the concierge, who refused to deliver a package to the room. When I went down to the lobby, he was just standing in a corner doing nothing.

The cigarette smell in my non-smoking room was so strong it made my eyes sting while I was in there.

Breakfast had Asian and Western options, and I thought the taste was pretty standard. The public facilities include a gym and pool. I liked the spacious, bright bathroom, and it was nice to watch TV while soaking in the hot tub, though they didn't provide bath salts or anything for it. The bed was comfortable to me, and I enjoyed choosing from a couple of tea options and brewing some on the couch while watching TV. The rain shower is my favorite kind, but the one in my room didn't work properly and sprayed unevenly. The office chair wasn't great for working, and the internet speed could have been better. Still, my stay was very nice.

I've been staying here for the last two years and keep choosing to come back. The property is very nice, well maintained, and worth the price. The staff are courteous, though they don't understand English. Breakfast and the buffets are lavish. My ratings: Location 4/5, ambience 5/5, courteousness 4/5, value for money 6/5, service 4/5.
