Holiday Inn Express Dengfeng Songshan by IHG

We couldn't get tickets for Shaolin Mountain through the hotel, even though they were included in a package we had booked in advance. As people without Chinese citizenship, we still had to buy them at the site. The hotel didn't mention this before check-in, and didn't really try to sort it out. My room itself was very nice, but the window looked out onto a parking lot. The hotel sits amid a lot of roads, so I can't say much about the location.

A good place.

The telephone alarm woke me up early and was annoying. The night before, I phoned reception and asked them to turn it off, but she flatly refused and hung up.

The breakfast was tasty and had a good range of choices. I especially liked the strong, fresh coffee from the machine. Our tour booked us here on the second day of our Xi'an trip, and the hotel's name had made us confident about the quality. It lived up to that expectation. The room was very spacious, with a large bed, a good mattress, and clean blankets. The bathroom was roomy and even had an air purifier. There were plenty of outlets for different plugs, plus USB ports and phone chargers. There weren't many guests while I was there, which made me feel sorry for the owner.
